RIPLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL

Ripley CofE primary school was closed in 2018 by the Local Authority and the Diocese of Guildford.  We recognise the hurt that this caused - and in many cases continues to cause - in our community.

The Trustees of the school are the vicar and two churchwardens of the parish of Ripley.  Along with the Friends of Ripley Primary School, we have fought to preserve the site for education and to ensure that the ownership remains in local hands.  We would like to see the site used for the education of local children. The legal situation is complex and remains unresolved.  We continue to wait for a decision by the Secretary of State for Education to determine the long term future of the site.

In the meantime, there is a wonderful pre-school serving the community in their purpose-built building and garden; Freemantles school for autistic children operates in the main school building; and community dance classes operate throughout the week after school.  The school facilities can also be hired at the weekends.
