Privacy Policy

As required by new regulations coming into force in May 2018 we are in the process of reviewing the personal data we hold. Most of it is permitted by the new rules but we do need to get permission from all those who are members of our Church or with whom we have had contact to allow us to keep in touch with you in the future.

Our Data Privacy notice will be available here once it has been approved by the Vicar and Parochial Church Council.

If we hold any of your personal data and wish to use this to contact you to invite you to special events or let you know about Church life then we will shortly be asking you to give us your consent to our using the data in this way.

Our Data Principles

The Data Privacy Notice will give information as we are required to give it. The Principles below give additional information or state our commitments more clearly.

  1. Your data is gathered when you join our Electoral Roll, seek the ministry of the Church for Baptism, Marriage or Funerals, pay money to the Church, or in other ways seek to join in some aspect of the life of the Church. We do not hold more personal data than is relevant to the purpose.
  2. Confidentiality is essential at all times. Those who handle personal data on behalf of our Church are asked to sign personal confidentiality statements. Data will not be shared with other individual Church members unless it is essential to do so for statutory or pastoral activities.
  3. You have a right to ask if data is held about you and to see what we hold. You can ask us to correct it or delete it. (We cannot delete information relating to Gift Aid until the Inland Revenue Audit Period is past)
  4. We will maintain a record of whether or not you want us to contact you in the future; you can change your mind on this at any time.
  5. We will not send out an excessive amount of publicity material.
